Application for LEAP 2026 is now open!
April 18 - May 4, 2026
Boston and New York
Application Deadline: October 10, 2025
Leadership Education in America Program (LEAP) provides practical learning experience in the US for Bulgarian professionals from the public, private, and NGO sectors. LEAP aims to support the potential of active early- and mid-career Bulgarians with ideas and determination to improve the communities they live in and to make a positive difference in Bulgaria.
You don’t have to be a CEO or a manager to be a leader. Leadership is not an innate quality reserved for a few; it is about creating and sustaining lasting improvement in the world around you - for yourself, your community, and Bulgaria.
This program is designed to help participants develop essential leadership skills and unlock their potential to communicate ideas effectively, inspire others, and rally support around a vision for the greater good. LEAP also aims to foster a culture of mutual respect and cooperation.
LEAP includes a training program at Babson College in Boston, MA, along with cultural immersion experience in New York, NY. It is open to applicants from all backgrounds born in 1986 or after and at least 18 years old.
LEAP is an America for Bulgaria Foundation-designed and -funded program, managed by ABLE and hosted at Babson College.
The Association of the Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE) is a vibrant community of young professionals who make a difference wherever they go. Our goal is to develop an active civil society, inspire leadership and promote entrepreneurial culture in Bulgaria. Through our programs we develop entrepreneurial and leadership mindset and help people grow.
Completing the LEAP program gives you the opportunity to join ABLE.
The America for Bulgaria Foundation (ABF) is an independent, nonpartisan, and nonpolitical American grant-making foundation working in partnership with Bulgarians to strengthen the country’s private sector and related democratic institutions. ABF started operations in Bulgaria in 2009. Its four key priorities are: Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology; Developing and Retaining Human Capital; Business Enabling Environment; Cultural Heritage and Nature Tourism.
